The perfect venue for your Holiday Party! Book your party today!
Hangout Bar and Grill is where classic Carolina hospitality meets timeless style—rooted in the rich history of Cary and Apex, two railroad towns that grew from crossroads into vibrant communities. Our menu celebrates elevated food favorites, while our hidden Prohibition-era bar channels the spirit of the 1920s—crafted cocktails, intimate ambiance, and a nod to the era when Cary quietly thrived along the rails.
Entertainment is part of our DNA. We bring the room to life seven nights a week with poker, open-mic comedy, open-mic music, karaoke, swing dance lessons, and live bands every Friday and Saturday night. Each month, we raise the energy even higher with a dueling piano show and elegant orchestra nights, blending nostalgia with modern nightlife.
Whether you’re here to sip, savor, or socialize, Hangout Seafood & Chophouse invites you to step back in time—while enjoying the best of Cary-Apex today.

I had the French dip sandwich (not on the menu yet) and my boyfriend had the build your own Mac bowl (he added pork but they accidentally gave him steak). Everything was delicious!!!
The dueling piano show was a blast! The musicians are very talented and also very funny, quite a hoot! Both cocktails I had were good (blueberry bulleit and cucumber dream) and the food was good as well. Service was very attentive and everything came out quickly!
I recently stumbled upon the Back Then Bar and Grill and I have to say, it is definitely a hidden gem. This place has it all - from a variety of games like billiards and corn hole games, to multiple TVs to watch your favorite sports team, and not to mention, the delicious food and drinks...
What a great place. We went early (4pm), so there were not a lot of people there. Which was great. The place is really cool. Huge TVs everywhere. There's a large stage that I read they have live music on the weekends. We want to come back and give that a try...
This is an awesome place to eat and listen to music! The food is absolutely amazing. I had the Buffalo Mac n cheese and the chicken was so tender I cut it with my fork. Service staff is friendly and courteous...
